The 1st EPAP.L. of Drama in Trabzon, in the framework of the “AI4GreenEd” Project

Mobility of the “AI4GreenEd” Project in Trabzon.
In the framework of the participation of the 1st EPAP.L of Drama in the Erasmus+ programme KA220-SCH-0290B952 entitled AI4GreenEd (Artificial Intelligence for Environmental Learning) and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in environmental education, the third mobility of the programme took place in Trebizond, Turkey from 07/04/2025 to 11/04/2025.

The Erasmus+ project aims to enhance educational practices and sustainability by using AI to promote environmental awareness and action.
The coordinating school is IES Castelar from Badajoz, Spain, and the project involves teachers and students from Greece, Lithuania, Turkey and the Bluezona organisation from Sicily.

The Deputy Headmistress of the school, Kyriaki Fotiadou and the teachers Kelessidou Sotiria and Styologlou Artemis participated in the mobility. From the students participated: Kansizoglou Angelos, Kogalidis Konstantinos-Marinos, Maragozidis Georgios, Noardos Vasilios, Laparidis Dimitrios and Simeonidis Nikolaos.

The programme was a rich educational and cultural experience in Turkey, with activities around artificial intelligence, environmental education and cultural exchange.

The first day started with an introduction game, a tour of the school, a visit to the Regional Governor and the Director of Secondary Education of the region and a beautiful walk in Vakfikebir that ended with a barbecue and traditional dances in the school grounds.

In the following days the students and teachers had the opportunity to admire the beauty of Lake Uzungol, photograph elements of the flora and fauna of the area and use artificial intelligence in identifying and extracting direct information about them. Among the natural landscapes visited included an impressive cave (Karaca Cave), Mount Zigana and the glass terrace of Cal Cave, as well as the Trabzon Botanical Garden.

They created a song with AI (Suno) in mixed groups choosing the best one and participated in a STEM workshop on AI.

They made visits to historical sites in the region, such as the Monastery of Panagia Soumela, Hagia Sophia, Atatürk’s Mansion and wandered around the city centre.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 to 12 October 2025 in Lithuania.
